With sun and temperatures in the 50s, event organizers say they could not have asked for better weather or better participation. The swim raised more than $67,000 for Atlantic General Hospital’s Foundation and while final expenses have not yet been tallied, it is the largest dollar amount ever raised during the annual event. With an initial goal to raise $49,500 after promotion and planning expenses, thanks to the dedicated swimmers from the Bull on the Beach team and others who turned out for the event estimates show that goal has been exceeded by more than $5,000. Teams and individuals who played the largest parts in the event’s success were recognized with first, second and third-place prizes including in the individual category: first place to “Woody” Butch German with $2,575; second place to Georgia Speier with $725 and third place to Carrie Hall with $600. Team winners include: first place Bull on the Beach with $32,500; second place AGH Frostys with $6,840 and third place Ocean City Parrotheads with $5,460.
