Description: Despite the cold, damp, windy weather on Sunday, October 18, young men from SDHS and Worcester Prep joined OP Environment & Natural Assets Committee members to plant 44 trees at the South Gate Pond. Kerry Nelson and his OP Public Works crew made the task much easier for the volunteers by doing the prep work. The Environment & Natural Assets Committee acquired the trees through a grant from the Maryland Urban & Community Forest Committee. The trees were provided by Treemendous Maryland. The trees will assist with stormwater control, reduce erosion, and create natural habitat for "critters" around the pond.
Identified from left to right in photo are: Dave Blazer, Chair, OP Environment & Natural Assets Committee; Jake Blazer, Joe Iacona, Morgan Bissell, Ben Mumford, Andrew Murell, and Alan Odon.
