Description: Here's what past OPA Board Member John McLaaughlin wrote after seeing the above signs: Has anyone else noticed the signs as you enter Cathell Road and the North Gate entrances. The signs have in large letters "All-American Day Celebration" at the Sports Core. There is no mention of Independence Day. Apparently our Board, the General Manager or both have taken it unto themselves to rename the 4th of July Holiday to the All-American Celebration Day.
Independence Day, is a Federal Holiday celebrated on the 4th of July. It honors our nation's birthday - the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. What right does this Administration have to rename it?
I personally found these signs very insulting but I guess I should not be surprise when it comes to the arrogance of this Administration.
