Swallowtail Butterfly

Description: Photo of swallowtail butterfly just hatched from chrysalis stage in our butterfly enclosure. Wasps were eating the butterfly eggs on our parsley growing in a pot outside. After a female butterfly laid another batch of eggs we brought the pot inside and put it in a mesh clothes hamper.  Numerous caterpillars began to appear, and eventually they changed into the chrysalis stage. This is the first to emerge as a butterfly. It was released to the wild.
