Description: 9-11 Ceremony held at Veterans Memorial... On the sixth anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, or simply 9-11, the Ocean Pines Police Department and Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department (OPVFD) joined with the Worcester County Veterans Memorial Foundation to present a moving tribute to the firefighters and police officers who gave their lives that day. Master of Ceremonies for the event attended by about 200 persons was former county commissioner Tom Cetola. Speakers included Ocean Pines Association Director Bill Zawacki, County Commissioner James Purnell, Delegate Jim Mathias, Ocean Pines Police Chief Dave Massey, OPVFD Chief Tom Meadows and representatives of the Worcester County Veterans Memorial Foundation.
