Description: Dan Brown is one of the icons of bird carving on the Eastern Shore. He lives on a tributary of the Nanticoke river near Quantico outside Salisbury.
I had collected a few of his pieces 20 years ago until collecting got real popular and they got too expensive, at least for me. One piece I always regretted not obtaining back then was a robin pulling on a worm. Well, Andrea got a hold of Dan a few months back and the result was my '05 Valentines Day present which Dan is holding. Due to emphesema [caused by sanding dust] he rarely carves any large pieces like this anymore. I was very fortunate. That carving shop workspace is a classic.
