Description: I happened to drive down to the Commercial docks over the weekend and was surprised by the number of commercial fishing boats in the harbor. Today I visited in my boat and stopped by one of the boats and asked a crew member what was going on. He said there were a lot of boats in from other harbors including shrimp boats form the South that were converted to scalloping. There are boats from Alabama, South Carolina and other states where, apparently, Katrina has affected their fishing so they came on up to Ocean City.
