Fishing
Description: Thanks to efforts from members of the Ocean Pines Anglers Club and the
Atlantic Coast Chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's
Association, $1200 was raised
and donated to the Ocean City Reef Foundation. These monies will allow the
Reef Foundation to purchase two New York City stainless subway cars which
will be the start of the most significant reef development project ever off
Maryland's coast. The two subway cars will join 44 others purchased with
donations to the Reef Foundation which will be taken in May by barge and
sunk at the Jackspot reef 21 miles southeast of Ocean City. Here they will
provide new habitat for various fish. The Reef Foundation hopes that enough
funds can be raised for another 4 barge loads which will significantly
increase the fish habitat and improve inshore fishing for everyone in the
Ocean City area. Donations can me mailed to; OC Reef Foundation, Inc. P.O.
