Description: The MSSA and Ocean Pines Anglers Club hosted their annual fall Flounder Frenzy Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Strong winds and dirty water posed a substantial obstacle to the 37 anglers entered as only one legal flounder was caught in the 2 days of fishing. Tournament director Budd Heim measured the winning fish at 19 13/16" weighing 2.62lbs. Of course amid sadness there is often some joy as was the case for angler Walt Boge, fishing aboard Captain John McFalls boat "Low Flying Object", who caught that single flounder and walked away with all 3 places in the tournament. It brought new meaning to a phrase often used by anglers. "That is why they call it fishing, not catching". Walt was last seen at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club buying rounds for those less fortunate anglers who were heard mumbling. Just wait until the spring tournament!
