The Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's Association and the Ocean Pines Anglers Club held their combined 2 day Flounder Frenzy Tournament on Friday and Saturday. 31 anglers caught 27 legal flounder and numerous throwbacks on 2 beautiful days of fishing. Water conditions saw most anglers dropping their lines north of the Rt 50 bridge with the winning fish caught north of the Rt 90 bridge. The 23 3/4" flounder was caught on frozen mullet by tournament winner Dick Shelly of Ocean Pines shown on left in photo, Tournament Director Budd Heim [far right] of Ocean Pines was second with a 21 5/8" flounder and Bill Cooke of Dover, De. captured third in his first tournament with a flounder of 21 1/2".
