Last summer while I was fishing near day mark #2 I saw a mother sitting on her nest while a gull hovered overhead waiting for a chance to grab a chick for lunch. Daddy who had been away looking for lunch for his family returned. Long story short he dove down on the gull and the result was the gull stayed for lunch, in fact he became lunch!
