Hi Nanci, I asked permission to have a diseased tree cut down. The inspector decided to check out every inch of the property and found the wire fence that is in a laurel thicket at the back and side of the property. It is only visible when you are standing right up close to it. There is no possible way it can be seen any other way. ARC made a big deal of it. I stood my ground. Technically...it is a violation. Visually...it does not exist. We could roll the whole thing up in a short time and we will take it down...if and when we die! The situation was finally resolved last summer. The whole thing was ridiculous and there was no way I was going to take the fence down. It had a county permit. ARC will continue to do these kinds of things if property owners do not stand up to them. In Gaithersburg, are the town rules different from the county code? Nancy |
