The cost to provide you or the group with free food is not the issue. The issue is why is the Yacht Club providing free food at all, and does the free-food offer extend to all social groups in the Pines or just selected groups. Does the Yacht Club provide free food for the Ocean Pines Tennis Club, for example? If more Board members were willing to take on all comers at the bar, I'll bet we could pack the place. Amen. It's my understanding that the meeting was held there, in the first place, because the Country Club, where the Golfies usually hold their meetings, was rented. Evidently, money was being made at both locations. Given the food operations around here lose big bucks every year, to say "money was being made" is an oyymoron. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I also attended that gathering. Cost to OPA of "free food" I consumed: probably about $3.00. Cost of beverages purchased from the bar, that I wouldn't have had if the meeting wasn't held there, about $10. Disappointment: Wasn't aware the "Saturday Nite Fights" were taking place. It's my understanding that the meeting was held there, in the first place, because the Country Club, where the Golfies usually hold their meetings, was rented.
