deserie, you are very articulate, but here you'd been be censored no matter how articulate you are. "PUBLIC RELATIONS SHOULD SERVE AS YOUR ONE AND ONLY SOURCE OF INFORMATION, NOT A SALES PITCH OR TESTIMONIAL TO HOW GOOD WE HAVE IT." i completely agree. how could anyone not. we DO need to know about the position of the board on prevelant issues. this is not happening and i think never will as long as we have this general manager. if "sir rod" were rod stewart i'd be there. -nanci

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I appreciate the sediment Nanci, I really do. However I strongly feel that I would never be able to make the changes necessary nor would anyone else when the powers that be censor all that is printed in regards to the Pines. Marketing is the most subjective element to business, it takes strength, knowledge and commitment to build powerful messages that ultimately an owner can see a positive return from. A part of that includes sales in print campaigns, marketing pieces and media presence. At the end of the day we need to look at the what is in the best's interests for the property owner's and residents of this community. Should there be a Sales and Marketing Department separate from Public Relations in attempt to make sure that both job duties are carried out correctly? Any person in PR will tell you that their job responsibilities do not mirror that of marketing professional. I am currently in a position of Sales and Marketing and when I compose any public message it is for the intent to sell a product/service. Public Relations should serve as your ONE and ONLY source of information, not a sales pitch or testimonial to how good we have it. I already know that I live in a great community but I NEED to know about the position my elected B.O.D. on prevalent issues, I need to know about what is being done to bring some of our decaying buildings back up to functionality, I need to know about what steps are being taken to ensure that the money that is collected for dues is being utilized or reserved for projects that return value for the residents/property owners. The question that I ask myself is, how am I ever going to find solid answers from my General Manager or OPA as a whole when all I am sent in the mail and read on the "news" page of the website is come have a drink at the pool bar, Sir Rod is coming back, check out the concerts in the park. I DO enjoy Sir Rod, my kids actually enjoy the show more than I and have a blast but that is not going to keep me informed at the end of the day. |
