Don, you may remember that in 2005, Joe Reynolds did just that with an arial shot of the proposed community center taken from the fire ladder, superimposing a white outline of the building. If this was done at WHP it would give a good idea of how much space we are talking about but with all the trees, I'm not sure if it could be done. I have seen more than one suggestion to turn the golf course into a "park" or "greenspace" but that is an argument for a different time |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Reid, I guess I'm among the "leave it where it is" folks. I realize room for a relocation is limited. One of my neighbors wonders if we really need two firehouses. Some one should put up some stakes in WHP to show exactly how much space will be taken, including the boundaries of the structure itself and for any land deemed necessary to accommodate our county requirements.  I reckon when the golf course folds there will be plenty of room for all sorts of things.  |
