We need a firehouse, no matter what Need or want? Who determines need? We already have two. Joe, You live on the Southside and have a manned firehouse very close to you. It is easy for you to dimiss a need for a firehouse on the Northside....you don't LIVE THERE! I WANT a firehouse on the Northside. Maybe not in Whitehorse Park....but somewhere close by. I doubt the fire company wants OPA for a landlord. They have let the current building almost decay. That is most likely the major reason, besides the need to house another truck ....that they want out. I can't say I would blame them if that is the reason. I have no contacts at the fire dept...so don't know anything about their business. That is mere speculation on my part. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I don't care about Silver Spring. If Worcester goes to paid professional firemen, wouldn't the county just lease the building from OPA? We need a firehouse, no matter what Need or want? Who determines need? We already have two. As I said previously, this entire discussion is academic at beast. The fire department is going to build a second station in White Horse Park and it will eventually be manned, whether needed or not. |
