Interesting you mention the billboard ban in Vermont. Some years ago Jeannette and I drove through Vermont. Something seemed strange, then all of a sudden it struck us - there were no billboards. I'm not sure of the issue you raise about a developer dumping on wetlands. Where are you talking about this happening. Whatever happened it was not a decision of the county if the area were truly wetlands. The Corps of Enginerers would have been the controlling entity. Government, unfortunately, tends to look at short term gain, not long term pain, when it comes to regulating inevitable development. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The WC Commissioners who voted in favor of Pennington have placed a potential million plus liability on the backs of OP residents. In plain english ithe vote was both shortsighted and inane. The more capacity you add to the OP wastewater facility the more you open up the area to more building, more traffic, more schools, and more is absolutely not better. The WC Commissioners culd learn much from a visit to Vermont where builders must contend with ACT 250. The permit process is extraordinarly tough but then you don't see the out of control mess we see happening here. And you don't see any buillboards on VT roads. The Commissioners should be reminded of their decision to allow Centex (TheParke) to dump thousads of truck loads of fill on wetlands to bring the elevation up to 5 ft to meet the building code. Apparently we live in an area where anything goes as long as it benefits builders. Ed Malone
