Section 5: OPA Board Subject: OPA Loses IRS Case Msg# 823692

I think this whole story should be made public beyond this forum. I sincerely doubt that there are many OPA members who are/were aware of this hiring of G's firm. I would also think the conflict of interest, if any should be investigated. This entire situation is a travesty.
Marty makes an unsubstantiated comment and you are ready for a full investigation, even though you have no idea of what transpired, how it transpired, or why it transpired. The board voted to hire the firm in question as a consultant to the lead law firm, one out of Baltimore as I recall. The discussion about the firm and vote was all done at a public board meeting and is on video. It was reported here and in all local papers. I believe it was reported in an OPA newsletter. What is a travesty is strong innuendo of wrong doing with absolutely no knowledge of what actually transpired. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Marty: That is where I was going with this discussion. I think this whole story should be made public beyond this forum. I sincerely doubt that there are many OPA members who are/were aware of this hiring of G's firm. I would also think the conflict of interest, if any should be investigated. This entire situation is a travesty. To referenc a previous post. There is no way this membership should be asked to pick up the tab for this tax bill. In addition a change must be made to the leadership of this association and board. |
