Is there any way to quantify what % of the current HOA assessment is earmarked for the overall golf operation?
Is there an assumption that if the golf operations were to be either privatized or discontinued, there would be a resulting reduction in HOA fees? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If I understand the gist of all this it's to relieve the OP residents of any of the costs of our amenities. If that's correct, I have to cast my vote against this effort. Your understanding is incorrect. The issue is not all amenities, rather the golf course. And more directly the $10 million or so of assessment dollars over and above income produced being pumped into the course with the end not yet in sight. The money going into golf, compared to all other amenities combined, is outrageous. The amenities should provide residents the best of comparable facilities at lower than competitive prices It is just such an expectation on the part of many association members that has caused the financial problems. and should be a reason prospective owners would want to live here rather than the obstruction they've become. Given the problems in attracting members, it is obvious the golf course can't be a major part of attracting home buyers. Only about 3% or less are members. What a shame so many board members consider saving a few bucks will make them popular. Not sure what you mean by the above. |
