The things that drove us away were the loss of the family plan, the threat of a walkers' fee (I'm not sure what the situation is now but when it was threatened I said I'd be happy to pay a green's fee if everyone including riders paid one - the response was that the riders were already contributing more than the cost of carts to general fees - OK, then cut the cost of carts to provide a cart cost coverage plus profit and a green's fee so everyone is treated the same when increases are called for - it seemed that only the walkers were getting an additional fee) and the fact that the course was going to go under a five year overhaul during which the quality of play would be affected. Then the decision to put the course under outside management (how could this possibly improve things?) reinforced the decision to leave. And if my understanding is correct, you can't walk the Pines in mornings anymore (I can't at OCGC either but that was a major plus to the Pines).

The other problem is that we've become part of a different social group at OCGC and returning would be a tough sell particularly for my wife. I don't know how to get around that.
