In terms of CPI, on Tuesday I saw an inspector check on the two abandoned/foreclosed houses on either side of me. At least one was on the market and is allegedly under contract, the other is just decaying. I believe this was just a routine check on known problem properties as these houses have been empty for several years.
One of the travestys in this recession is how long banks are holding onto foreclosed properties before being sold. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Went bike riding with a friend last weekend on the roads off Ocean Parkway in South-South Pines. We rode10 miles on the back streets on 2 different days looping through the community. We made a point of hitting the small courts too. There are many houses that look run-down, yards that are not cared for, houses in disrepair and houses that look abandoned. However there are more houses that are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Overall, I was a little surprised at how rundown some areas looked and this does seem like a change for the worse.
