A boat ramp is not a safe place for children to play. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It is a boat ramp, not a playground. Joe If any boats were there to launch...those children would not have been there....of course! The area is recreational. There are walking paths behind the parking lot that go off into the woods, and the little lagoon was VERY " recreational " long before most of you ever heard of Ocean Pines. It is a safe, out of the way place for kids to play. In recent years, it has been messed up with a bunch of dredging equipment sitting there...so it couldn't be used. If it were not safe, you can bet that none of us would have let our children play there, and there were adults present if little children were around. The children were not near any boat launching. It was used much like the "little beach" below the Swim and Racquet Club was used. That is also a launch area for rafts and kayaks., but children have to get out of the way over there. It is not so protected. The public areas of OP are for all residents. Nancy |
