The black top emphasizes the "outlet mall" look of the non waterfront side of the building. I'm not sure which side is the front or back? Some trees, some gardens, something green, something natural?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Paint to look like stone? You must be kidding. Maybe the blacktop right up to the door could be painted to look like something decent as well.
