The newly elected President of the Ocean Pines Board of Directors, supposedly with a four-person majority, makes what is more or less his first motion of any importance on an issue very important to him, and two of his majority vote against him.

During the over hour-long discussion Tom Terry suggests tabling the motion. Jack Collins, a member of the Stevens majority, suggests tabling the motion. Interestingly, neither of the two appears to understand Roberts Rules or one would have made a motion to table, and a vote on that would have preceded any vote on Stevens' motion. Instead, Stevens seems to insist on having a vote on his motion. It fails 5-2.

Look, anyone really interested can view the video and make up their own minds as to whether or not the so-called majority blew it on one of their first forays into the world of motions and board politics. In my opinion the majority blew it.

Watch the video of October 18, 2014. It starts in a bad way, and listening to Stevens make the motion is painful. Cordwell says if the motion passes the board should apologize to the Clubs Committee. Clubs Committee members are present and object to Stevens motion:
