Back in the day a lot of roads didn't have a white line dividing the road down the middle. If when you were driving on an unmarked road you aligned the hood ornament with the edge of the road you were on your side.
I really was not aware of that although I personally used to do that myself when driving. My generation of car enthusiasts were responsible for the demise of hood ornaments popularly known as "nosing" back then. Hope we were not responsible for more accidents. |
