Good start.  I would add that the most egregious act without Board approval was the unilateral decision to change the Family Swim to Sunday which led to pool community outrage and subsequent reversal.  As Marty pointed out in a posting earlier this week, the issue of adult only pools violating FHA regs was gaining traction. It no doubt would have caused OP to change the YC pool but this change could have occurred after Labor Day and given OPA a chance to educate the pool community and allowed members to make pool purchase decisions for the summer 2018.  This better alternative never had a chance once Brett struck out on his own.
