For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The Fifties on 5; some really good stuff... with this caveat: I stopped counting at 500-- that's the number of times I've heard "Where the Boys Are" since Tuesday last. Now and again they'll surprise me and spin a tune I haven't heard since '57, but, alas, these instances are few and far between. Lots of Bill Haley which suits me just fine. Weird but true: I can't remember what I had for dinner two days ago, but a tune comes on (a tune I haven't heard in over 60 years) and I can recall almost all of the words and most of the backbeat. After while alligators... or something to that effect. |
