For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Please refer me to the transparency of this issue prior to the “killing” or like other actions which fall in to “do then tell”. The program to move forward with goose control measures on a step by step basis as detailed on the Maryland Department of Natural Resources web site was approved by the board several years ago. It was also discussed extensively at meetings of the Environment and Natural Assets Committee over the past year. There was no announcement of the time and place when the capture of the geese was to be done. Do you think the time/place should have been announced? I will grant you OPA made no formal news release prior to the capture of the birds by agents approved by the federal government. |
