Our provider in the DC suburbs is RCN. They have an app called RCN to Go that allows me to sign in to many cable channels that would otherwise charge including ESPN, Fox Sports, HGTV, Food Network, etc. Not all of the programming is available for free on these apps, but I usually find something to watch. Also, many major broadcast nets and cable news outlets allow you to stream for free without signing in to a cable account. We watch CBSN, Fox News, and CNN Go that way. Don't know what Comcast would offer. We had Comcast service before RCN became available and it was terrible. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Another tip for part time OP residents, if you have cable at another home, use that provider's app to access cable channels that have apps. My non-resident neighbor said he was going to do that and I was thinking....sure... He has Comcast in Pa. How does it actually work and what channels are available? |
