Would you still recommend switching to "streaming" for those Mediacom reliability problem areas?
Where are those areas? What are alternatives of web services besides Mediacom, and potential problems-- HughesNet or Verizon or something else??? There are no internet access alternatives to Mediacom internet at this time for realistic streaming of TV. The devices I saw advertised are -- besides Apple TV-- were Amazon, Google (Chromecast), or Roku. I experimented with Roku extensively and decided AppleTV was best for my needs. I have a distrust of almost anything from Google. And I saw "service" offerings mentioning -- besides Sony PlayStation -- were DirecTV Now, Hulu With Live TV, Sling TV , and YouTube TV. For people interested in still getting cable channels, is there a comparison list (or grid) to make all those choices & $$ comparisons any easier???? Reading is not experiencing. I signed up and tried virtually every service. They offer a free week. I selected on PlayStation Vue by Sony because it had all the usual cable channels plus local channels, and specifically the Hallmark Channel and Fox News. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe A fascinating message, thanks !! A couple questions about going to "streaming service" and dropping cable TV. (or DirecTV) You've seen comments how some locations of OP experience less than reliable service continuity from Mediacom. Yet your street's cables from mediacom seem very reliable. Was an education for me!! A new technology to be explored. Could offer some very interesting opportunities for changes, for many in OP. Tom |
