![]() ![]() Section 18: Worcester County Subject: Knock-Out Punch?? Msg# 214468

I didn't "blame" anyone, just said I found it interesting. Perhaps paradoxical is a better word. Kinda like losing a dollar bill and a penny, but spending all one's time looking for the penny. Actually, it is an easy issue to get a handle on. When government says it is going to help you, look out. When that help is supposed to come from developer dollars and the developers are overjoyed to give the dollars, someone is taking it on the chin, sooner or later - and it isn't the developers. Sewage treatment capacity in Worcester County is akin to a gold strike in California. Someone is making money on that gold, and it isn't the ratepayers. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What I find most interesting is the almost total lack of public interest in an issue that will have far reaching effects, not only on the pocketbooks of people in Ocean Pines, but on the overall quality of life in this area of the county, yet voters in Ocean Pines quibble over relative pennies in regard to a Town Center. Meantime, development interests are dancing in the streets. I know you are passionate on the waste water issue and due to your background are as knowledgeable as anyone currently serving on the Wastewater Committee. The fact of the matter however is that even to those of us that attempt to understand what goes on in this arena it is confusing. It is difficult to get ones hands around and seems to be constantly changing ie this latest OP/ Riddle Farms wrinkle. I just find it hard to blame the voters on this particular issue. Frankly we have to rely on folks like yourself to take up the banner for those of us that are less knowledgeable. The politicians should be aware that many more may be watching this time around. |
