YUP I'm on board with those endeavors for making coal even cleaner. And also to achieve carbon capture. Pretty tough technologically. Slow progress. Some setbacks. Will take a while more, IMO.
Yet today's coal is far cleaner burning, than earlier versions. Power plant "scrubbers" are responsible for this. But with natural gas much cheaper these days, that's the even better choice. And that's how the US has been leading the globe in CO2 reductions. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: With all the money the U.S. has poured down the rabbit hole in renewable energy, they could have figured out how to make handling and burning coal very clean. |
