| The position Colby held was a recent creation. Now OPA has dumped the two or three titles created out of the blue a couple of years ago and returned to the department management structure that served well for many years. This was the right thing to do. If the various department heads can suddenly not take care of what their counterparts took care of for 50 years, we could have a problem. However, it appears the current department heads are fully capable of handling their positions without another expensive layer of management between them and the GM. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The current Board should learn from history to make sure past mistakes (including the loss of good employees that are now having their workload increased with the departure of Mrs. Phillips) do not repeat. Ocean Pines is big and running it is complicated with a big learning curve. This Board should recognize that and plan for the day Viola steps down as he said he planned to. Personally, I did not agree with how Viola was complaicent in allowing Colby Phillips to be "investigated" or treated. I worry for other long term valuable employees. Ocean Pines--Get Involved isn't a private secret group. I encourage everyone to join. Some great ideas are being tossed around. The group is focusing on the short term rental restrictions. I hope more members join the Board Meeting Saturday and the Ocean Pines--Get Involved Group. |
