Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Phillips v Perrone Msg# 1117583

The lawyer's second report spoke of various managers having various opinions of which way the GM views various departments in the "company". This "variety" is not healthy in an organization and tends to metastasize unless dealt with promptly. I suggested a reorganization rather than an investigation and, by that I meant that the basic facts are staring us in the face. Someone at the top of the organization has to be asking one on one questions with personnel at all levels and dealing directly with the results. This may ultimately lead to moving people around or in some cases, encouraging them to seek another line of work.
The board can't be reorganized without changing the various by laws and basic constitution of OPA and I'm not advocating that. In addition, they have just recently declared themselves perfect in all ways. What they would have to do is support a thorough evaluation of the corporate structure and the people in that structure. Since that starts with the COO (the general manager), that person would be the logical person to conduct this evaluation. The problem in this case is, is he part of the problem or part of the solution? And if the former, can he be made the latter? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Then what would you reorganize if not the board? Are you talking a management company, or what? Given your background, I am curious |
