Reynolds Grocery Store was at the corner of Cross and Carroll Streets. Miss Lil's place was right across Cross Street. She had a great selection of penny candy. Miss Lil treated my younger brother like a son. He was also very close with the Ziglers.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes!!! Helen went on to teach at Gardenville Elementary. One of their children, my cousin Dickie was a real card. Elwood and Helen lived on Carroll and bought their brick house for $1875 in 1039.. Helen was called ”Miss Helen” for a long time because she and Elwood married in secret during the depression so she would ‘t lose her teaching job. |
