The entire post has been deleted from the ROC. It got rather contentious. Em Hench confirmed the non-approval during the conversation. I'll look to see if it is covered in a meetings note.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If you are going to make statements about committee or board actions on this forum, please provide facts -- not some obtuse reference to a comment made on Facebook. For FACTS I suggest you start with committee meeting minutes. So, if they do NOT recommend, is that not rejection? A committee chair can reject the application of any member seeking an appointment. That does not mean the person will not be proposed for appointment by the president and approved by the board. It might just mean that the board could remove the chairman.
I will say this - any eligible association member applying for committee membership who is "rejected" by the committee chair should immediately go to the president and/or the entire board if the person believes they have been wronged. The person may obtain no satisfaction, but improper discrimination should be exposed. |
