Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Janasek Accosts Wheatley Msg# 1160164

Ortt told OPA they would take no action, according to reliable sources. Nothing to keep Janasek from downing a few at the YC as we type. Janasek also does some sort of work at Ortt properties, based on his public statements.
If Ortt refuses to protect association members, the board has an obligation, a responsibility to do so. The Ortt position seems to be - Janasek must accost someone else before they will take action. Who will that be? Frankly, those few who think OPA should do nothing are doing so based on OPA politics, not the actions of an individual. Crystal clear to me in that regard. A board vendetta against Janasek according to one forum member. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I certainly agree that all should feel safe in our community but also feel it's a safety officer's responsibility to keep our community safe and not become a board policy. It's just not a good idea to put the board in the position of making those determinations. It is something they should have a conversation with Matt Ortt if it's felt a situation with someone warrants them to be banned at the club. I also agree that Viola is a terrific GM and hate to see him go...however from what I've read don't think his deciding to leave had anything to do with the incidents with Janasek, which were also inappropriate. So I think we agree on the behavior just not how to best handle. |
