For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I, of course feel horrible and disheartened for what transpired with verbal assault on both Mr. and Mrs, Wheatley at the Yacht Club. Ghastly really. Was Tom J. arrested? Did they take an alcohol reading from him? No one wants to see any further or escalated attacks of any kind directed at any individual or individuals in whatever setting. I don't believe that OPA is a law enforcement agency last I had read in my by-laws. If physical violence had occurred, who would be at fault? The Matt Orr companies for overserving a customer? Or did the customer already consume alcohol prior to arriving? Was it even alcohol at all that caused the verbal assault? It's NOT OPA that would be found at fault. It's up to the establishment to determine whether they wish to ban an individual - they have that right. You'll see that with rowdy kids (just as an example) playing a wild game of Putt-Putt. The management will give them notice and if not heeded - they can in fact be banned from future play. It's the company's prerogative. Just because Matt Orr companies has signed a deal to be the food/beverage contractor of OP's sites, doesn't mean OPA can make rulings on which individuals can frequent their establishments - it's up to the company and legal law enforcement to dole out any rulings on toxic behavior, not OPA. And might I add, OPA has covered toxicity rather well these past few years. Sadly, never ending it seems : ( |
