Always a fan of the 54 and up models, way ahead of their time but always had an issue with oil consumption.
I owned a 53 Studebaker and always carried a couple quarts of oil in the trunk. The V-8 looked impressive but only produced about 120 HP. I did get it up to 90MPH once. After changing failed transmission with a friend traded it on a Studebaker Hawk. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Always a fan of the 54 and up models, way ahead of their time but always had an issue with oil consumption. Pull into a service station and say, fill up the oil and check the gas! I've been to the museum in South Bend, great place to visit, not sure if it's still there? Image below from Gail Phillippi - Image Title: 1962 Studebaker GT Hawk Image Info: This '62 Studebaker GT Hawk belongs to Frank & Gail Philippi of Ocean Pines. Frank & Gail belong to the newly formed Delmarva Peninsula Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club. Any more out there?? |
