The proposed cost for this one sided retrofit sign is $21,000. Traffic is bad enough at that north gate sign area with people still trying to make an illegal U-turn when they leave the medical center. Trying to read a flashing electronic sign won't help.
The Communications Committee is obsessed with this issue of electronic signs. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: There was no instruction by the board to pursue this as far as I know of. The last I heard the Communication Committee was meeting with Chip Bertino in March to see if one or two electronic signs could be installed without removing the other signs. When the original electronic sign discussion topic was brought forth to the Board, Frank Daly made an excellent argument against spending the money as these signs would have little benefit for public safety.
