They come mainly from Assategue Island, there are thousands of them there, live off of the ponies. Hateful to say the least. Image below from MikeSlater - Image Title: Biting Horse Flys Image Info: I just got bitten in my yard over on Windjammer by a huge horse fly!!! It was about three quarter of an inch long. It hurt, bled and got infected a day later. I have seen two flies afterwards and wonder where these pests came from! I hope my sightings of these huge flys is just an anomaly. Has anyone else seen more of them this year or been bitten???  |
