Given your opinion, what sort of OPA issue do you perceive that would require an in-person meeting?

I have attended board meetings in person on a regular basis for over 30 years. That long term perspective tells me that boards were more effective when they met twice each month in person. Once on say the 3rd Wednesday of the month for a work session, then a regular meeting on the 3rd Saturday. Like clockwork. No email.

Hardly any association members attended the informal work sessions. Then it was not unusual to see more than a hundred people attend the Saturday meetings - and there were only half as many homes as now. Oeople took tickets to get in line for public comments  

People were involved, in person  

These days the board members are involved in constant email messaging. This may not be best approach to governing an HOA, but perhaps inevitable.
