Why doesn't the group allow anyone visiting their page on Facebook to see what they post?
It’s a group. Anyone can join as long as they follow the rules. That’s like asking why I can’t read your forum without being a member. I’m interested in how all the signs advertising peoples businesses managed to stay up while code enforcement was doing their sweep through OPA. It must be really easy to get a permit for these signs for them to remain. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Not when we have sitting BOE members like Katie Addis or Moms for Liberty candidate Dorothy Shelton Leslie who is currently running for district 5. Signs supporting those candidates or others in the upcoming election can be displayed on OPA lots. The signs in question are not candidate signs. Anyone in support of voucher systems or MOE is not supporting public education. That statement is certainly questionable as a fact. The parents behind Worcester United are right to be concerned. Why doesn't the group allow anyone visiting their page on Facebook to see what they post? If I have to look at my neighbors stupid political flags year round, I can certainly tolerate a yard sign through May 14th. I believe Maryland HOA Act sets time frames for political candidate signs: (3) If a limitation to the time period during which signs may be displayed is not specified by a law of the jurisdiction in which the homeowners association is located, to a time period not less than: (i) 30 days before the primary election, general election, or vote on the proposition; and (ii) 7 days after the primary election, general election, or vote on the proposition. If you believe your neighbor's political signs are in violation of the above then you should contact OPA and report the violation. Finally, is your position that the Worcester County Commissioners should simply rubber-stamp any proposed Board of Education budget, regardless of the amount? |
