In what may come as a surprise to many association members, the Board of Directors elected Stuart Lakernick as the new President of the Ocean Pines Association during the board's Organization Meeting on 8/23/2024.

Essentially, Lakernick and outgoing president Rick Farr switched positions, with Farr now Vice-President.

It could be said that Rick Farr sacrificed retaining the prominent position to assist his friend in the board election next year. With all going well in Ocean Pines, a sitting president running for re-election, as will be the case now for Lakernick, stands a better chance of winning.

Other offices will be held by the same board members as last year.

Board appointments also included Linda Martin as assistant secretary, Steve Phillips as assistant treasurer, UHY as the auditing firm, Bruce Bright (Ayres, Jenkins, Gordy & Almand) as legal counsel, and Doug Parks as parliamentarian.

Association members owe Rick Farr a well-deserved "thank you" for his year of service as OPA President.

Congratulations and best wishes for success to Stuart Lakernick and the rest of the board members in the coming year.

Directors also set the regular Board meeting schedule for the next year with all meetings on Saturday at 9am in the Golf Clubhouse. Lakernick has long supported the idea of consistent Saturday morning board meetings as a means of increasing association member attendance.
