Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Profiles in Courage Msg# 1211608

Dave, returning to the actual issue:
The board, in my view, acted courageously - in the face of upsetting some or many association members like yourself - in voting to request proposals for the management of OPA's food and beverage services. You disagree. OK. But our disagreement is NOT the issue. The board decision does not rule out the possibility of the board offering the new management contract to Matt Ortt Companies. That is a distinct possibility after OPA receives proposals. At this point, there is no information about what companies may offer proposals, how they might suggest profit sharing, various operating differences, etc. Another issue is the contract term length. Some suggest a 10-year contract. In my opinion, no management firm should receive a 10-year contract. Five max. Once the board receives proposals, on or about October 18th, it will review them and decide. Only one thing is an absolute certainty - Whatever the board determines there will be association members who disagree. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe you have obtained the left’s ability to spin. Sure you’re not a democrat? |
