Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Republic Yard Waste Msg# 1214567

I think we need a better update on what is happening and when. I also think the lack of correct information is on Republic and not OPA management.
Republic needs to inform its people out in the street that yard debris can be set out with garbage cans and can be in paper bags or plastic bags. Some collection crews are not picking up yard debris unless it is in paper bags. This is incorrect. Paper or plastic can be used for all regular trash pickup days. Paper bags are only required for the new special fall leaf collections. OPA needs to put out a press release laying this out in clear language for association members, and Republic needs to inform its crews on the street. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, I think the Republic issue has been very poorly handled with a lack of accurate information for OPA residents. It is beginning to seem like each week brings up a new issue. It was my understanding that they would continue to pick up bags until the new smaller cans arrived and the trucks had been updated. How do they know what is in the bag? Then everything had to be in cans. What happens to yard waste then? Does it depend on the truck on your street? I think we need a better update on what is happening and when. I also think the lack of correct information is on Republic and not OPA management. |
