Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Offshore Wind Lawsuit Msg# 1215798

Quick decision by a board member? Surely you jest.
Anyone owning property and/or living in Ocean Pines , especially a member of the OPA Board of Directors, who does not know about the offshore wind issue is living under a rock. Furthermore, there was no notice to the residents that there was going to be a question/answer session and that the Mayor of Ocean City was going to be in attendance. Had that happened, I expect the Board Room Saturday would have been much more crowded. On that you may have a point. By the way, Chip Bertino, president of the Worcester County Commissioners, was also in attendance. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Why should anyone be ashamed of themselves for refusing to make a quick decision. Frankly, this entire matter should have been handled by a Town Hall months ago. If you really want to stop this wind turbine project, getting the largest voting block (Ocean Pines) informed on the matter would have been prudent. A Town Hall would have been informative, could have included handouts and information as to what lawmakers to write letters to, etc. Instead, this Board gave homeowners at the most 3 days notice that this Motion to join a pre-existing lawsuit was on an agenda. How many homeowners actually knew about it? Furthermore, there was no notice to the residents that there was going to be a question/answer session and that the Mayor of Ocean City was going to be in attendance. Had that happened, I expect the Board Room Saturday would have been much more crowded. |
