As for that old bugaboo depreciation, it's a non cash expense that just debits one account and credits another.
Interesting. If, as you suggest, depreciation is immaterial, why is the total OPA depreciation amount added to the assessment we pay every year? Not immaterial when association members pay their assessment. Depreciation in the assessment is a little over $2 million if I recall correctly. Now you want them to reneg on this deal and pay a 75K penalty. Following the agreed terms of a contract to end a contract is not reneging on a contract. In closing, I'll say that any so called advantage of bringing in TOA early is just not worth the buyout fee. Have you actually read the Ortt contract? Maybe, just maybe, if you actually start commenting based on knowledge rather than speculation, you would understand why it is not in the best interest of OPA to have Ortt return for three months. If you had to write that check I rather doubt you would do so. And least I hope you would show better judgement. No one person is writing the check. My part of the payment would be about $8.82. Please stop it with the Melancholy Serenade, Joe. Nobody wants to do business now w OPA cause they are not agreement capable. Words like that kinda end the possibility of any reasonable discussion. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'll bite. Please stop it with the Melancholy Serenade, Joe. Nobody wants to do business now w OPA cause they are not agreement capable. Now you want them to reneg on this deal and pay a 75K penalty. 75k here, 75K there, pretty soon we're talking big money. Apologies to Everett Dirkson (PBUH). If you had to write that check I rather doubt you would do so. And least I hope you would show better judgement. As for that old bugaboo depreciation, it's a non cash expense that just debits one account and credits another. A cash flow statement w the depreciation charge removed would be more useful to evaluate Ortt and co. In closing, I'll say that any so called advantage of bringing in TOA early is just not worth the buyout fee. |
