Well deserved and congratulations to all. 
Hopefully, these promotions also came with an increase in salary. The issue for me are the titles. Senior this; Senior that. Ridiculous. Senior implies some other position of the same name without the Senior. Is there a Junior Director of Administration? Here's what the titles might reasonably be: Linda Martin - Deputy General Manager Justin Hartshorne - Director of Golf Maintenance Steve Phillips - Director of Finance Ruth Ann Meyer - Deputy Director of Finance |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: OPA announces Senior Director promotions Ocean Pines Association General Manager John Viola announced a pair of promotions to staff members effective May 1, 2025. Viola said Linda Martin, currently the Director of Business Administration , has been promoted to Senior Director of Administration. Linda will continue to report to the General Manager. In her new expanded role, she will have responsibility for Recreation & Parks, Public Relations & Marketing, CPI, and Strategic Planning. Additionally, Justin Hartshorne, currently the Director of Golf Maintenance, will be promoted to Senior Director of Golf Maintenance. Reporting to the General Manager, Justin’s responsibilities continue to be golf maintenance, and he has expanded his role in overseeing a major capital project (irrigation). Both Martin and Hartshorne have made significant contributions to the Ocean Pines Association. "I am very pleased to make this announcement. I wish both Linda and Justin continued success in their roles,” Viola said. By investing in the professional growth and development of its staff, OPA aims to continue providing results and customer service to the community, as well as succession planning. |
