Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Community Center Contract Msg# 387365

We can debate that such a letter should have gone out sooner; that it should have been in a quarterly newsletter; that the newsletter should be more frequent or have more substantial info. However, The board is criticized for not communicating community center info and then when they do so. I believe association members have a right to see a signed contract and am working toward seeing that happen. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, You and everyone who has any understanding of the MHAA knows that there is no legal obstacle to prevent the "leadership" of the Board from making the signed contract a matter of public record for our membership. Actually, it's just the opposite: the law grants us the right to see the contract. The action of the "leadership" to refuse to open up to us by saying there are ongoing negotiations for "schedules" or addendum is nonsense and more of the disingenuous practices typical of the this Board (let's get Joe Moore to give us an opinion that supports what we want to do.) The simple fact is that "they" - for whatever reasons - do not want us to see what they have done. Perhaps "they" have something to hide, or perhaps "they" do not want the contract the be nitpicked. Whatever, it's a choice on the part of people like Starchurski, and as long as such tactics are used by them I will support any actions of the few who do not go along with the end justifying the means. By the way, yesterday I received in the mail the 8 1/2" x 11" cardboard propaganda letter from OPA president Duffy. While well written and informative, I question the expenditure of more money on this (probably in the thousands of $$) and his motive. He must have sent it out to counter the effort for a referendum from the STOP group. This type of message should be held for our quarterly OP Report (another OPA thing that needs to be completely revamped so that it will be a valuable source of information and not a house organ with little real OPA news). |
